The Eastern Reef-Heron (Egretta sacra) is natural to China, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesian Islands, New Guinea and nearby islands, Australia and New Zealand. |
HABITAT: |
Normally found on the sea coasts. |
REPRODUCTION: |
Nests solitary and in colonies. The nest is done on bushes, among the rocks and in caves. The clutch is two to four light greenish blue eggs. Incubation takes from 25 to 28 days and it is done by both parents. |
FOOD: |
The diet consists of fish, complemented with crustaceans and mollusks. |
DESCRIPTION: |
In length it reaches from 58 to 66 cm. The weight is 400 grams. |
