DISTRIBUTION: |
The Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) nests in the artic regions in Greenland and in northern Russia. During fall it migrates to western Europe, and can be seen on the coastal regions of Germany and the United Kingdom. |

REPRODUCTION: |
This goose nests on the mountain risks. The usual clutch is four to nine eggs. Incubation takes 24 to 25 days and is done by the female. The youngsters fly for the first time when they are six to seven weeks old. |
DESCRIPTION: |
In length they reach 58 to 71 cm (23 to 28 inches). The males weight 1.3 to 2 Kg. (about 3 to 4 pounds), the females .78 to 1.29 Kg. (about 1.7 to 2.8 pounds). |
