Familia Aegothelidae

Estas aves son nocturnas. Son oriundas de Australia, Nueva Guinea y las islas cercanas. A estas aves se le llaman egotelos o chotacabras búhos. La familia Aegothelidae se le asigna al Orden Caprimulgiformes.
