The Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator) has no recognized subspecies. |
In captivity, and possibly in the wild, this swan mixes with the Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus columbianus). |
There are four populations of the Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator), three of them show genetic differences among themselves. The fourth one is of reintroduced birds. (please see Pelizza y Britten, 2002). |
